Synopsis:
This work will be the product of creative collaboration between Natsu Nakajima and Isabel Beteta that will be carried out from January to March 2011 (six weeks, with full-time provision).
The objective of the work is to deepen the expressive possibilities of butho (as a technique that combines dance and theater since its origins) and generate a personal language far from the conventions usually associated with this technique.
It is important to note that the mtra. Nakajima is a direct student of Hijikata and Kasu Ono and a generation partner of Min Tanaka and Ko Murobushi.
The material on which the work will be constructed is the philosophical reflection of the Nitzchean court according to which art is the defense against the truth, with death being this. Let us not forget that butho originated as a defense against the ideological invasion of the United States in the post-war period and the return to traditional roots of Japanese fertility rites.
Thus, it seems to us that, at this time when the world seems to be disintegrating from an ecological point of view and globalizing in terms of the market and a questionable communication, it is relevant to reconnect with our own roots (rediscovering our center), revalue and renew our creative possibilities as a defense proposal against the surrounding chaos. Hence the title of the piece.
