Synopsis:

The choreography “The Verb to Be” takes its title form the poem of the same name written by the surrealist poet André Breton and it is the second part of a trilogy about surrealism which got the grant form the Sistema Nacional de Creadores;  and is part of a research and update of the work methods and surrealist principles from the past century.

In this case the choreography used a text as a starting point.

Phrases were used from the poem’s text, a few were randomly chosen.

The music was specially composed for the choreography based on the same phrasing and choreographic structure using an instrument for each dancer and mixing these as the choreography evolved.
