Choreography by Allen Kaeja
Year 2008
Duration: 26 min
Music: Edgardo Moreno
Lighting: César "Chacho" Guerra.
Synopsis:
This choreography is a diversion that was developed from a work with students of the University in Canada, turning a trio into a work in three parts: a trio, a solo and a sextet.
The major merit of this work, more than its spectacularity, is that it shows the product of a “partnering” technique developed over twelve years by Allen Kaeja and his wife Karen, in which they have achieved amazing originality and virtuosity.
The rhythm of the work is fast, interrupted by a slow one that gives, however to understand, that there is a person present that we cannot see who works with empty space; while the trio and the sextet work intimately with another (or others) that fill the entire space.
Allen Kaeja is being supported by the Canadian embassy in Mexico, as well as the Canada Counsil for the Arts, to return to Mexico to finish the choreography for its premiere at the City Theater in October 2008.
