Synopsis:
To the Shadow of the Dawn: After the death of her second husband, Bernarda Alba imposes on her five daughters, as mourning, a long and rigorous seclusion. It is the exaggeration of a real custom, of a tradition taken to incredible extremes. But that same exaggeration, that excess places the work in the plane of the legendary, of the symbolic, of the myth. In that extreme situation (borderline situation) conflicts, forces, passions will be enlarged, will develop until exasperation. Catalyst of the forces locked in the house will be the figure of Pepe el Romano, suitor or boyfriend of Angustias, eldest daughter and heiress, but attracted by the youth and beauty of Adela, the youngest, and loved, in turn, by Martirio.
